"Government Target Model"

One of the OSU Pistol Club guns is a MKII "Government Target Model," aka, it has a long barrel.  Yes, that's the only difference.  Anyhow, this gun has been giving us trouble all weekend (this weekend was our big fundraiser shoot).  Finally, I gave up and brought it back to the vault, with the comment that, like all things government, it just doesn't work.

HK Genius

Yes, I know I suck and they hate me.  HOWEVER, the roller-lock design is absolutely genius.  I've always thought it was pretty cool, and then I ran into a technical description of how it works.  As an engineering student and a budding gun nut, it made my day.  It's so simple, yet so strong.  It's genius.

Filthy Ruger MKIIs...

...are a pain in the ass, at least to take apart.  They really are.  It's made even worse when they're so filthy that the powder residue build-up is a millimeter thick (or more in some places).  This is what happens to range guns that get used a lot.  Fun.
